Sky Calendars

Want to know what's going on up there? (in the sky I mean)

Maybe you just want to know what interesting astronomical events are happening these days.

Here are few useful sites I've found and used:

• Sky and Telescope's Week at a Glance Provides daily events for a single week.
• StarDate Weekly Stargazing Tips Another weekly event update.
• Sky Calendar at Abrams Planetarium at Michigan State University. Provides a good printable PDF calendar.
• Que Tal? Earth/Space science newsletter.
• JPL Space Calendar Gives listings of asteroid and comet close approaches, spacecraft launch dates, famous anniversaries and birthdays, lunar and planetary events, as well as the dates for related conferences (in case you planned on going). For example, today the spacecraft SPACE-1 entered lunar orbit!
• Stig's Sky Calendar Supposed to be very good-- I've seen many sites refer to this one --assuming the Java on the embedded applet works. I've not yet seen it work. Check back.
• Astroevents -- Good calendar showing lunar and planetery events. Updated monthly.

I hope to eventually add my own sky calendar to this site. Until then, keep checking back at these links!
